ВІТАЄМО

Welcome to the official page of the Ukrainian Culture Centre in Nottingham, which is run by the Nottingham branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB). For more than 60 years it has fostered a wide range of activities and groups including a Ukrainian language school, a choir, an orchestra, and dancing, theatrical and youth groups.
The activities of the community are now run by second and third generation Ukrainians who still keep alive the culture and traditions of their parents. We provide services ranging from a weekly day centre for the most elderly members of the community, to scout groups for our youngsters.

Statement

On the Fourth Anniversary of Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine

Four years after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, one fact is beyond dispute: Russia’s aggression continues.

Calls for “negotiations” that pressure Ukraine to concede territory do not advance peace — they reward invasion. Proposals that freeze the front line without justice do not create peace — they entrench instability. Every moment of strategic hesitation costs Ukrainian lives and deepens the humanitarian toll on innocent civilians. Authoritarian regimes are watching how the democratic world responds. If it signals that borders can be changed by force, that war crimes can go unpunished, and that endurance alone can outlast Western resolve, the consequences will extend far beyond Ukraine.

The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) reaffirms its unwavering commitment to advocating for:

• Sustained and strengthened UK military, financial and humanitarian support – for Ukraine to be equipped to win, not merely to survive;

• The defence of Ukraine’s full territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders;

• The use of frozen Russian state assets to fund Ukraine’s reconstruction;

• The acceleration of accountability mechanisms to prosecute war crimes and the crime of aggression;

• The return of unlawfully deported Ukrainian children and prisoners of war;

• Support for Ukraine being measured in years, not news cycles.

Fatigue must not replace resolve. Peace without justice is not peace — it is deferred conflict.

Ukraine’s resistance is a fight for its existence, for peace and stability in Europe and for defence of international law.

We call on the Government of the United Kingdom, parliamentarians across all parties and the international community to maintain unity and leadership at this critical moment. The cost of supporting Ukraine is far less than the cost of allowing aggression to succeed.

For four years Ukraine has stood firm. For four years, the British people and our community have mobilised — raising funds, delivering aid, supporting displaced families and advocating tirelessly across British society.

We will continue, we will not waver! We stand with Ukraine now and always!

Eternal memory to the fallen heroes! Вічна пам’ять полеглим героям!

Glory to Ukraine - Слава Україні!
